For Sagittarius

An amusing, quick-and-dirty way to figure out which side of the forthcoming Saturn/Neptune square you’re currently vibing with (active between 2015-2016) is to contemplate your response to the image below:

BeerBikeLimo

Meet the beer bike limo! Yes, it’s a real thing. You and a few pals can belly up to the bar and enjoy a pint whilst taking in a slow-motion tour of the city powered by your own two legs (and a Designated Driver chauffer, of course). If you get too tired/drunk to peddle? No big deal – an eco-friendly electric motor kicks in to save the day!

Now does the idea of a beer bike limo sound like the BEST. THING. EVER., or are you instead struck by impracticality of such a slow, seemingly pointless means of transport?

If you answered A, you’re most likely erring on the Neptune side of the equation. Neptune will square the Suns of all November & early December-born Sagittarians between now & late 2016. Symptoms of this can include: an increased hankering for booze (or other substances), a marked decrease in critical thinking and possible impaired judgment, and/or a longing for some kind of spiritual connection. For more possible manifestations (both constructive and detrimental), see the following post on Neptune transits.

If instead you answered B, you’re probably leaning more toward the Saturn end of things. ALL Sagittarians will experience the passage of Saturn over their Suns during the next 2 years, and this has the capacity to make for an “all work and no play” attitude. If you can’t muster at least a little good humor at the absurdity of the above-pictured invention, it may be a sign that you’re taking life a little too seriously these days and could benefit from an injection of whimsy! I mean, come on – it’s a pub crawl with cardio, for goodness sakes!

However you feel about the beer bike limo, you have to admit that it is a pretty genius business idea perfect for the aforementioned Saturn in Sagittarius square to Neptune in Pisces. Craft beers have been taking off like crazy thanks to Neptune’s residence in Pisces, and this is an excellent way of imbibing with virtual calorie-count neutrality while toning/firming those gams at the same time! It’s very neo-hippie, IMO – something Sadge would love, as I’ve yet to meet a Sadge that couldn’t run or bike their ass off. Well, OK – maybe one or two, but that’s because they favored armchair philosophizing over a couple of brewskis to general physical exertion, LOL. But this sign does love to stretch the legs and roam, and I can’t think of a more fitting (and hilarious!) mode of transportation for a Sadge having a Neptune transit – cheers!

Mars Into Pisces, Part 2

MarsInPiscesLet’s see, where did we leave off…? Oh yes, we were discussing Mars in Pisces and reflecting upon its occasional propensity for being its own worst enemy. We’ve touched upon how guilt can be a problematic motivating force for this energy, but let’s move onto another critical topic when discussing Mars: anger. Because Pisces is the sign of “self-undoing” – the place where we metaphorically “shoot ourselves in the foot” – Mars can have difficulty with anger for a myriad of reasons when in this sign. Now I have a feeling some reading this post out of context and in a vacuum might be inclined to misinterpret my point of view on Mars in Pisces as being more controversial or negative than intended. As I’ve stated countless times, every astrological energy has the capacity to express in Hi-Fi, Lo-Fi, or in a more middle-of-the-road manner, and today we’re talking about some of the more problematic expressions of this energy is all. Rest assured that I have a much more panoramic and multi-dimensional take on this energy as a whole, but for the sake of staying on-topic and following a particular train of thought, in this specific post I am speaking only of the ways in which this placement can work against itself and wind up being its own worst enemy when dealing with anger. Pisces is symbolized by two fish tied together and swimming in opposite directions, and this imagery alone should give us an idea that it can indeed be at cross-purposes with itself from time to time.

Now that I have that disclaimer out of the way, when anger surfaces for Mars in Pisces, one possible manifestation can involve trying to ignore it and pretend it isn’t there; sweeping it under the rug in moments when healthy self-assertion is called for. Pisces energy can have a very “now you see it, now you don’t” quality to it, and it’s the inclination to dissipate anger that can lead to scenarios where this placement may be walked on by others if it’s not careful, because others may interpret this as weakness. Indeed, there can be a “conflict avoidant” side to Mars in Pisces to the point that its vision of even healthy self-assertion becomes skewed; where it mistakenly views “sticking up for itself” as “being a jerk”, thus inadvertently causing much of its own suffering in the process. It should also be noted …Read More…

(Unfortunate) Signs Of Saturn Into Sagittarius, Part 2

TheInterviewPosterIt began with Sony Pictures’ controversial decision not to release the film “The Interview” as scheduled on its proposed release date of December 25th, 2014,  just two days after Saturn’s entrance into Sagittarius. The movie in question is a political satire lampooning the N. Korean government, and Sony made the decision to pull film from theaters ahead of its release following terrorist threats believed to be made by hackers associated with the hermit kingdom.  Controversy quickly ensued as debate broke out about public safety vs. freedom of speech, and resulted in the movie ultimately being released online on December 24th and then being shown at select independent movie theaters on a limited-release basis as of December 25th.

JeSuisCharlieThen came the horror of the Charlie Hebdo massacre in France.  For those not familiar, Charlie Hebdo is a weekly satirical publication in France known for its left-wing, often irreverent views.  Apparently, their comical depictions of the prophet Muhammad angered some Muslims, 1) because their religion was being spoofed and  2) because according to Islamic law,  depictions of the prophet Muhammad are forbidden.  Two such individuals took this perceived affront to an extreme by breaking into the newspaper’s headquarters in retaliation – armed with guns (likely supplied and funded by Al Qadea) – and carrying out a mass shooting where 12 were killed and 11 more wounded.

I’m sorry to report that both of these unfortunate events can serve as examples of one particular facet of Saturn in Sagittarius’ energy  – see this excerpt from my December 2014 newsletter about the effects of Saturn in Sadge:

Over-seriousness: This tends to be a more “politically correct” energy overall and as a result our collective sense of humor may become a bit dampened by this influence. Comedy that relies heavily on the use of stereotypes is most strongly affected, such as ethnic jokes. Similarly, political satire or humor that disparages religion may be particularly subject to Saturn’s censoring if/when a line gets crossed. ……..At the very least, people will be most certainly inclined to let us know when something is “not funny” and/or if a line has been crossed, because Saturn is all about showing self-restraint and staying within bounds.”

I have to tell you that when the the astrological correlation between these two events hit me and my own words came echoing (hauntingly) back, I felt my blood run cold.  But I find myself compelled to write about these recent geo-political events nonetheless for educational purposes so readers can see one potential expression of Saturn In Sagittarius in action for themselves. In bringing up this tie-in, I also want to put forth a disclaimer that Saturn in Sagittarius – by itself – isn’t inherently “bad” or “negative” so that nobody gets the wrong impression from reading this particular post in a vacuum.  As is always the case, much of a planet’s expression is dependent upon the consciousness level of the individual responding to it, and I think it’s pretty safe to assume that both parties responsible for these two incidences probably have a consciousness level somewhere between “in the basement” and “below sea level”.  Indeed, no astrological force is ever one-dimensional – there’s a whole spectrum of possible expressions, some of which are going to exemplify the Hi-Fi side on an energy, others the Lo-Fi vibration, and others still may be inclined to be more neutral in nature.  If you’re looking for an explanation of some of the more positive manifestations of this energy, go back and re-read my December newsletter in full because it does  give a pretty balanced point of view on this topic.  Or read the first Saturn in Sagittarius post in this series.  But for the purposes of this article, we’re going to explore factors involved in what made these events exemplify (or “resonate with”, if you prefer) the Lo-Fi end of Saturn in Sagittarius.

There are 3 themes of Saturn’s energy that strike me as being most applicable to these scenarios:  protection, fear, and control.  I am almost certain that – in both instances – the terrorists’ goals was to 1) protect their ideologies (religious, political, and philosophical ideologies are all Sadge’s domain!) , and then as a response to this impulse, they made a choice – based on their level of consciousness – to (duh) 2) spread fear, because that’s what terrorists do.   And Sadge is a propagator extraordinaire – there’s a reason this sign is known as “The Promoter”.    Now obviously in doing so, they were attempting to control how the world views them (and worldviews are again something that falls under Sagittarius’ umbrella). The outcomes could have been very different if either of these two groups had a more elevated level of consciousness and focused instead on the capacity for ethical morality that Saturn in Sagittarius is quite capable of; however we all know how looney people can get when they feel as if their politics or religion are being disrespected/laughed at.  And Respect (with a capital R!) is always, ALWAYS a Saturn-related issue.  As I have mentioned before, Saturn is (and will be) engaged in a loose but ongoing square with Neptune in Pisces for about the first year and a half+ that it spends in Sadge – this can very easily blur lines when it comes to our sense of personal responsibility for what we believe is “right” or “wrong”, especially as this square tightens up between late this year and most of next year.

Mars Into Pisces

FieryPiscesWith Mars making ready to transition from Aquarius into Pisces, we are about to experience a noted energy shift! Mars in Aquarius has been a rather frenetic vibe largely due the presence of a mutual reception between this planet and Uranus in Aries. But Mars in Pisces has an altogether different feel…it’s more restorative, relaxed, and concerned with motivations that come from an inward-focused, spiritual place rather than purely outward physical or social activity. Pisces is a reclusive sign you see, so while physical activity levels may not be as high as they have been in recent weeks once Mars dips into this sign, perhaps we’re a bit fried from all the social activity of the holiday season anyway and could really use an opportunity to rest up, reflect, or just plain veg-out on movies and catch up on some sleep!

Mars represents our vitality and physical energy – it’s our muscles, pumping red blood, desire, testosterone, and/or our “piss and vinegar”, so to speak. But Pisces is a very nebulous sign – it’s decidedly not “of the physical world” and operates on more etheric, intangible realms instead. This is the sign of the mystic, the hermit, the guru, and the dreamer, and when Mars enters here some of its physical “get up and go” tends to be dissipated and replaced by motivations and desires more idealistic in nature. You see, there has to be an element of the divine or even fantasy fueling Mars’ actions to really get him moving (swimming?) when in Pisces, because it’s never about pure physicality just for physicality’s sake. It’s not a matter of being lazy; it’s just that Mars wants his actions to have some kind of meaning that transcends the mundane whenever possible when he’s here! This is why activities like yoga, tai chi and qi gong are right up his alley – there are spiritual, meditative aspects of these pursuits being coupled with movement, which creates an ideal synergy Water (Pisces) and Fire (Mars).

When The Red Planet arrives in the sign of The Fishes (unless we’re a Pisces Sun about to get a Mars transit!), we shouldn’t be surprised if we find our energy level ebbing. Consider adapting to this state of flux and going with the flow rather than fighting it – try for lower impact, lower stress activities that engage your flexibility, like any of the above suggestions. Or try swimming a few laps in a (heated) pool and see what your muscles can do when they’re weightless…. if you close your eyes and turn on your imagination, perhaps you’ll find yourself transported to another place, like a sandy island in the tropics or an infinity-edge pool overlooking a gorgeous panoramic mountain scene. But don’t push too hard if vitality is low or you’re feeling run-down, as Pisces can also be an infirm sign and this could be a potential indicator that we’re coming down with a fever or flu. Listen to your energy level and what it tells you to do right now, because Mars in Pisces does sharpen the intuition. If it says “nuh-uh” and urges you instead to draw a hot bath, pour a warming cup of herbal tea, and curl up in a blanket, have at it without feeling guilty. That’s one of Mars in Pisces’ downfalls – doing something ill-advised because it allows itself to be motivated by guilt. A Pisces Mars has been known to be its own worst enemy from time to time, but we’ll talk about that facet (and others) of this energy the next time around…

Riffing On Venus In Capricorn, Part 2

So we’ve already discussed some of the financial implications of Venus in Capricorn in a previous post.  But now we’re going to talk about the relationship angle of this placement since Venus symbolizes love as well as money – think of it as some parting words for Venus in Capricorn as she prepares to leave for Aquarius in just a few day’s time.  Now while I do not personally have Venus in Capricorn in my own chart, I do have another form of this energy in the guise of some Venus/Saturn action, so we could say I’m pretty familiar with the dynamics.  To illustrate, here’s an anecdote about a neat little parlor trick this energy sometimes pulls on me: When I’m typing too fast, sometimes the word “relationship” turns into “realtionship”, which is quite amusing as Saturn/Capricorn energy combining with Venus is all about REALNESS in relationships!  This is a good starting point for understanding how Venus in Capricorn functions in love: this grounded, pragmatic energy inherently understand that fairy tales involving handsome princes and beautiful maidens are only for children. It would rather direct its efforts toward a relationship that’s real, attainable, and decidedly more concrete than waste time dreaming about some illusory Prince Charming or Fair Maiden that may never manifest.

There is also a seriousness to this energy that tends to favor commitment in relationships – Venus in Capricorn generally prefers partnerships that will stand the test of time and that incline toward the traditional, and while this can sometimes incline them to be a bit old-fashioned, it does also confer a degree of maturity because this energy naturally understands that all unions take work and require regular maintenance! It may take time for a Cappy Venus to warm up to somebody because they do tend to be innately cautious regarding love, but once they feel safe they’re generally inclined to stick in it for the long haul…sometimes even to their detriment.  And this is certainly worth noting, because if we remember the “scarcity consciousness” touched upon in the previous post, we can understand that – in some respects – this energetic pairing (under the wrong conditions) can sometimes be inclined out of all to “settle for crumbs” from a partner or in a relationship when self-worth is an issue.  And this is not necessarily an uncommon phenomenon, because Venus is symbolic of our sense of self-worth – the value we place in ourselves – and one of Capricorn’s many titles is The Lord of Lack and of the the Have Nots.  In cases such as this, we should look in particular at parental modeling – not only because Capricorn is very much a sign associated with parents, authority figures, and role models – but also to look at what love they gave (or didn’t give) to the Venus in Capricorn individual that may have provided the framework – the basic nuts and bolts – of how partnerships are viewed.

Now it should be noted that none of these tendencies by any means dooms an individual to an unhappy love life – it just means that if any of the above are issues it’s likely going to take time, maturity, wisdom, and effort to bring this energy into a more healthy expression.  It may entail stumbling and cutting our knees more than a few times and learning from our mistakes in relationships.  It may require working with a professional.  It could be that we need to seek more positive role models and strive to emulate those who have relationships we respect.  Perhaps learning how to take personal responsibility for challenges we encounter in our love life (and ONLY our piece in them!) so that we can take them as lessons learned WITHOUT punishing ourselves for this is what’s called for.  It could also be that perhaps we’ll come to see the necessity for better boundaries, for higher standards, and to develop the ability to say “no” to persons and relationships that aren’t in alignment with our priorities, expectations, values, ethics, etc. rather than try to cobble something halfway workable together out of poor raw material.  Capricorn is the Master Builder of the zodiac, and whenever a planet is found here we do well to take a good look at the bricks and mortar that we’re trying to build with.  Remember, this energy is about REALNESS, and if we’re not real with ourselves about what (or who) we’re working with on a very basic level, somewhere on down the line this is likely to impact the overall structural soundness of a union.

If on some level we feel as if we deserve less, then the de facto result is we’re then inclined to settle for less from others.  But balanced expression of Venus in Capricorn isn’t about swinging to the other extreme and having nosebleed-high expectations in relationships – it’s not about deciding we’re only going to marry a doctor, a lawyer, or someone else who could artificially prop up our (evidently flimsy) sense of self worth with “status” of some kind.   Although Venus in Capricorn is predisposed towards being impressed by people who generally have goals, who are working toward a career of some kind as opposed to just punching a clock, and who (for all intents and purposes) have their shit together, it’s not about the artificial attainment of some kind of “title” via a union in order to bolster social position/reputation nor is it about only holding out only for someone that would be considered “Best of Breed”.  It IS, however, about working on any of the barriers and impediments that make union with a decent, worthwhile, reliable, respectable, trustworthy, salt-of-the-earth type of person possible.  And about overcoming any obstacle(s)  that prevents a lasting and enduring love from entering our life.

Signs Of Saturn Into Sagittarius

Wow, so Saturn enters Sagittarius in just over a week (December 23rd) – check this story out, because it’s a sure sign of this energy: Cops (Saturn) playing the role of Santa Claus (Sagittarius)!  Pretty wild that we’re seeing signs of this ingress already, ya?!

Double bonus points:  It’s no secret that law enforcement (Saturn) has indeed been getting some pretty bad press lately (see: Ferguson, MO et al), which is something that we expect to see with Saturn in Scorpio since this placement corresponds to abuses and misuses of “authority”.  Corrupt cops are unfortunately something that’s par for the course with this energy,  which is still technically in play until December 23rd.  But now that Saturn is about to leave Scorpio for Sadge, it seems Sagittarius’ benevolent ways are already giving the police a much-needed PR lift.  Sagittarius is the Great Benefactor of the zodiac – every planet gets a boost when it traverses this sign.  If Saturn = the cops, it makes total sense that law enforcement – as a physical representation of Saturn energy – would benefit from this planet’s entrance into Sadge.  An interesting illustration of astrology in action!

Riffing On Venus In Capricorn

Now that we’re into Venus in Capricorn season once again, I think it’s an appropriate time we talk about some of the qualities and traits (both Hi & Lo) associated with this placement – specifically, from a financial standpoint since our gal Venus is such a “material girl”. Often when I contemplate astrology, phrases or songs come floating through my mind, and sometimes this combines in funny (but true) ways. Upon noticing that Venus was entering Capricorn, a little scene from the movie “The Birdcage” came to mind, which was instantly followed up by a South Park parody of the same tune – the song in question was:

Now random amusing pop culture references aside, there is a strong grain of truth in saying that Venus in Capricorn is apt to “work hard for the money”. Capricorn is the sign of hard work; Venus the planet of money, material possessions, and values. A Hi-Fi Venus in Capricorn individual isn’t generally predisposed to simply expect things to be handed to them, no – they’re usually more than willing to earn every cent they get. They tend to value financial self-sufficiency as well as income stability, so they can be inclined to be smart with their cash and into making budgets/financial plans. This placement can epitomize the saying “Use it up, wear it out, make it do, or do without” as there can be an inherent frugality to this vibe that prefers making purchases based purely on necessity. More likely to be a cautious spender, Venus in Capricorn will take the time to do the math & make sure they’re not overpaying for something, to make sure they’re getting a quality product for their hard-earned dollars (regardless of however much or little they decide to spend) , and is usually into looking at long-term financial goals – whether that’s a house, retirement, or whathaveyou. Seldom found is the Venus in Cap who doesn’t have a 401(k) or IRA set aside for old age, LOL!

But this is just one (financial) facet of Venus in Capricorn  – like all astro-energies, it carries a full spectrum of potential expressions and how it operates is usually in direct relation to the consciousness of the individual wielding it. There’s also a side of Venus in Capricorn that can be very status-conscious – it has to have name-brand EVERYTHING because it finds off-brands or knockoffs to be very low-rent, and if it’s one thing Venus in Cap tends to have hangups about, it’s appearing “poor”. Venus in Cap can also be a financial climber, with a Rolex watch, a closet full of designer clothes, a Bentley parked in the driveway, and a 10,000 square foot mansion to complete the picture. Nothing says “success” and “You’ve arrived” quite your possessions do, afterall, and oftentimes Venus in Capricorn is willing to work long and hard in pursuit of financial “pinnacles” that enable them to have high-end items….even if/when it means they pinch pennies elsewhere.

I think it important to note the underpinning of this sort of thing may relate to scarcity consciousness. There is something about Venus in Capricorn that can – on occasion – seem to fear lack on a material level like no other placement. Whether they came from poverty and worked hard to rise above it (Dolly Parton being a prime example of a Capricorn Venus in action), or their material values were strongly shaped by the influence of a parent or parent(s) who maybe didn’t show love any other way than to buy them things, there can be – in certain circumstances – an experience intrinsically tied to their value system that does seem to indicate there being a noted lack of something or other at one time. Perhaps as a direct result, this is why the Lo-Fi expression of Venus in Capricorn can also veer outrageously cheap, watching where every penny goes, nickel-and-diming people to death, and generally being what most would consider a stingy skinflint. Under the wrong circumstances, Lo-Fi Venus in Capricorn can indeed be quite miserly; crying broke at every turn yet all the while locking money away in the bank vault for safekeeping. Forever protecting resources “just in case” and needing to have that financial “safety net” at all times, this can occasionally even lead to scenarios where fear gets in the way of love (the prenupt, for example).

On a more esoteric level, we might say any imbalance to our monetary values directly correlates to our sense of self-worth, as this is also Venus’ domain. Whether we feel “good enough”; whether we only value ourselves insofar as our relative financial “usefulness” to others (i.e. being the “breadwinner”); whether we’re inclined to “settle for meager crumbs” regarding how others treat us; or whether we learn from experience to have higher relationship standards (while also keeping in mind this shouldn’t be nosebleed-high where we consider ourselves “too good” for others and shut perfectly decent & worthwhile people out)….these are all Venus in Capricorn lessons.  More on the relationship angle of this placement at a later date…..

Catching An Astrological “Buzz”!

MarsUranusMutualReception
December’s Mars-Uranus mutual reception: Mars is in Aquarius, Uranus in Aries.

Woooohooo – did ya feel that?! Mars just made the transition into Aquarius & the astrology is poppin’, as this creates a mutual reception between Mars and Uranus that will last until January 12, 2015! Mars is an invigorating influence; Uranus represents that which is unexpected, wacky, and electrifying. Put the two together, and it’s a bit like sticking your finger into an electrical socket, LOL! Be advised the power of this pairing – though in effect now – will peak between December 15th-25th.

As I stated in an earlier newsletter, this vibe is metaphorically akin to nitro-glycerin – not exactly the most stable of energetic compounds, but if used correctly it can be one hell of a propellant! There are lots of ways these two energies will be mixing and mingling during the next 5 1/2 weeks, so I’ve made a cheat-sheet below of some themes likely to be encountered while this Mars-Uranus mutual reception remains in effect – keep in mind we each get to choose which end of this vibrational spectrum we want to resonate with, so for best results strive to do the Hi-Fi side of this astro. Pick any number of expressions from the list below that suit your purposes & will help you to kick ass, and strive to find ways to rock and embody them. For example, using the list below, maybe there’s a change we’ve wanted to make but haven’t made the leap just yet for any number of reasons – let this Mars-Uranus mojo be our cue to finally get off our keister and make it happen! Let’s make like a Nike commercial and “just do it”! Or maybe the inclination of this energy to be unapologetically different gives us courage to nut up and proclaim “I yam what I yam” if we are gay.

We can also use this same premise for avoiding Lo-Fi expressions of this vibe….for instance, if we know this mutual reception can increase the likelihood of unstable tempers, perhaps we make an extra attempt to detach from our own anger if we find ourselves irrational, on “TILT”, and in need of a cooldown; or actively disengaging from hostile situations when we see others getting hot under the collar. It’s important to realize that grey area exists as well – to give you an idea of what I mean, anger isn’t always a bad thing when being ticked off prompts us to take control of a situation that needs to be changed, like, pronto. If we’re normally unsure of ourselves and not apt to be assertive enough when we need to be, getting fired up may be *exactly* the change that’s being called for. It is possible for anger to be the kick in the pants we need to buck convention when the status quo is broken, so please don’t think this emotion – in itself – is inherently “a bad thing”! Now that you have the idea, let’s explore some of this mutual reception’s themes:

Self-initiated, proactive change; an unstable temper; detaching from irritants; taking action that’s unexpected or in some way different from the norm; an unconventional or experimental sex drive; being the change we wish to see; astonishing conflicts from out of nowhere; a surprise hero or champion coming from left field; self-assertiveness that shocks/amazes; independent action; original moves; unexpected passion; clashes w/ friends; online conflicts; an active social network; new friends; doing things with groups of people; social activism; being (unapologetically) different; “I am gay”; neuroinflammation; muscle weirdness/spasms; being weird just for the sake of pissing people off or driving them crazy; contrarian; social agitator; defiant; confronting a tech challenge; the “alpha dog” of a social clique; acting crazy; novel/fresh/innovative/radical actions; getting your “freak” on; sports fraternities; an unpredictable sex drive (that abruptly switches on OR off); and last but not least, my personal favorite – kicking ass with astrology! 😉

See anything you like on the list above? I hope so, because I sure do! To soak up whatever vibe(s) we want from this list, all we have to do is align our intentions accordingly in mindset, word, and deed – carpe diem, bay-bee!

A (Final?) Saturn In Scorpio Message

As Mercury – the messenger of the gods – joins with Saturn in the last degrees of Scorpio this evening, I thought it would be a perfect time to put out a possibly final Saturn in Scorpio memorandum. It deals with personal accountability (a Saturn fave) and why it’s especially important to own our shadows as Saturn prepares to weigh anchor and leave for Sagittarius in less than a month’s time. Scorpio deals with our so-called “shadow sides”; the dark, dysfunctional parts of our makeup that – once conquered – can serve as potent fertilizer for claiming our personal power. With Saturn in Scorpio since late 2012, we have all been collectively faced with repeated tests dealing with our ability to control the qualities, traits, and characteristics that may otherwise have the ability to enslave us to our lowest natures. The tests of power and resultant struggle to master the darkness within represents a true journey of self-mastery from the very cores of our beings. We won’t get many more chances to get these kinds of life lessons right, so tonight I want to reflect upon a subject that often surfaces when we talk about Plutonic energy (which is a catch-all umbrella term for planets found in the sign of Scorpio, located in the 8th House of a chart, or in contact with Pluto).

You may recall from a previous newsletter I did on the topic of Saturn in Scorpio, that one major keynote of this energy has involved being nuclear conscious of what we’re taking from vs. what we are contributing to the collective (read: others’) energy pool. And that a failure to do so during Saturn in Scorpio inevitably leads one to be deemed a “drain”, “leech”, or “energy sink” – in this situation, others are (rightfully) inclined to retract their investment in us, which makes sense because why keep the tap running when we’re being bled out? The self-protective inclination to conserve our energy – whether this be in the form of physical, emotional, or energetic resources – is extremely strong when this planet traverses Scorpio.

Now some on the receiving end of this treatment during the last 2+ years have no doubt cried foul over being cut off like this – and it’s precisely this phenomenon that I want to address tonight. Plutonic individuals – that is, those with a preponderance of Scorpio planets, an abundance of planets located in the 8th House of their chart, and/or contacts from Pluto to key planets in their nativities – are prone to having a reputation for cutting people off. While it’s true that a prevalence of these kinds of energies means we’re Read More….
