The Beauty Of Jupiter In Libra

womensmarchThe slogan of the Women’s March on Washington sure is quintessential Hi-Fi Jupiter-in-Libra if I ever did see it:

“We work peacefully while recognizing there is no true peace without justice and equity for all.

Truth (with a capital T) is a Jupiter concept; justice, peace, and equality are all Libra themes. Hi-Fi Jupiter is all about diversity, inclusivity, open-mindedness, and tolerance – it is political and philosophical. Hi-Fi Libra is unity, harmony, Love, like-attracting-like, fairness, and cooperation.

The very best Jupiter in Libra offers us is the ability to lift one another UP and to find cohesive philosophical common ground even when there are differences – it’s all Love. And that’s what struck me about this huge worldwide event; the broad range of issues that converged and yet the real sense of solidarity among attendees. True it started as a women’s march, but it bloomed into something much more and there were men and people of all colors and creeds attending for various reasons. Sister marches mushroomed up on the local and international levels. Signs read everything from “Get your hands off my uterus”, to standing up for LGBTQ rights, to protesting Trump, raising concerns about climate change, proclaiming that Black Lives Matter, speaking out against the recent proposal to roll back the Endangered Species Act, objecting to the DAPL, calling for water protection, and just about everything in between. Regardless of whatever each person’s particular pet “issue” was for participating in the march, everyone seemed to agree on one thing: They don’t like the direction Washington is going in and want their voices heard.

That is what Jupiter does, folks – it’s known as “the Promotor” for good reason! Having the aid of this planet is like having a giant megaphone; it blows issues up and magnifies them in ways we can’t ignore. In Libra there is also the ability for Jupiter to partner up with people from all different nations, ethnicities, and backgrounds to unite over a common Principle/shared philosophy, with mutual growth and reciprocal blessings being the end result. In this writer’s humble opinion the March was a beautiful example of this; inspiring hope and unity in a positive way during a time it is sorely needed ❤

President Orcus

presidentorcus

Note: The information contained in this post is derived from astrologer Jeremy Neal’s excellent book on Orcus.  In my opinion all astrologers and serious astrological students should consider this book required reading, as despite its small size this energy packs an incredibly powerful punch.  Read on to understand why I say this…

There’s a big new player on the astro-scene, and its name is Orcus.  Orcus is a relatively recent discovery; a Trans-Neptunian Object found in the Kuiper Belt back in 2004.  It is a very close cousin to Pluto as it has a similar size, elliptical orbit, and orbital period but the two remain locked in opposite orbital phases; visually forming a sort of Venn diagram with Neptune’s orbit representing the overlap between the two.  When Orcus is closest to the Sun, Pluto is furthest away and vice versa – this has sometimes caused it to be referred to as the “anti-Pluto”.

Orcus first grabbed my attention a few years ago – I was reading Jeremy Neal’s treatise on the subject; specifically the section on its ties to McCarthyism and the witch hunts that later became synonymous with the Republican senator from Wisconsin. Something about Neal’s description immediately caused bells and whistles to go off in my head; so loudly that I actually had to stop reading mid-chapter in order to pull a chart.

Hmm, now where had I sensed this energy signature before?  This M.O. just seemed so familiar…ah, yes – Donald Trump!  Donald J. Trump first made it onto my radar back when he was spearheading the whole “Birther Movement” hoopla against Obama.  Sure I had seen him on TV here and there throughout the 80’s & 90’s and later had an awareness of his mid-2000’s reality TV series “The Apprentice” in which he was famous for playing the role of judge/executioner as he coldly issued forth the tagline “You’re fired” from the head of chair a shadowy boardroom conference table, but Trump never made much of a blip for me until after this point in his career. Keep in mind all of this was long before his White House bid ever happened – it wasn’t until he started getting very political circa 2011 that I began to formulate any kind of real opinion on the man at all.

As I watched Donald devolve from a multimillionaire celebrity I was fairly indifferent about to arguably one of *the* most vociferous, belligerent, and frankly contemptible voices among the (IMO largely xenophobic and/or racist) Birther Movement ranks (hellooo, remember the monkey meme?!) , my disgust began to balloon to immeasurable proportions.  It wasn’t just how he went about demanding Obama produce a birth certificate; it was listening to him talk out of turn about his (obviously very limited) understanding of the differences between “Birth Certificate” vs. “Certificate of Live Birth”. Listen buddy, I’m an astrologer – I deal with birth record issues all day long.  I can assure you that just because a document says “Certificate of Life Birth” instead of “Birth Certificate”, this is not at all suspicious!  But so convinced of his righteousness was he that he just continued along doing what he does so well, which as far as I can surmise at this juncture appears to be talking out of his ass. The real icing on the cake, though, was watching him subsequently be proven wrong only to turn around and give himself a self-congratulatory pat on the back that he was “proud [he] could do what no one else could” and get Obama to produce a birth certificate.

It was right then and there he showed me the true measure of his character. If you can’t even admit you were wrong or offer up an apology when you tried to ruin someone’s life/career/reputation erroneously and have not one single drop of remorse over the McCarthy-like witch hunt you were leading, this in my opinion smacks of narcissism and at the very least should serve as a red-flag indicator that something is indeed very wrong.  So long story short you can see why – when years later when I was reading this book on Orcus and its ties to the McCarthy era – my mind would immediately say “Huh – all of this sounds very familiar. Better go look at Donald’s chart to see if we have Orcus Bingo.”  And lo and behold, look what I found…!

Donald Trump is a veritable Orcus-Palooza – Orcus is less than 3 degrees away from his Sun while being conjunct his North Node by less than 1 degree, too; a strong astrological marker the energy of this celestial body is indelibly entwined in his DNA for better or worse. But that’s not the whole of it – Trump was born on an eclipse; making Orcus simultaneously opposite his Moon and South Node.  As he is a Leo Rising he gets triple bonus points for having Orcus conjunct his chart ruler (the Sun) as well – this combination of factors serves as an astrological trifecta that denotes Orcus’ energy as very prominent in his personality. The Sun, Moon, and ASC/chart ruler provide clues as to the dominant notes of our character and when they are all tied up with the same celestial body that planet’s energy will loom large in our life.  Add in the fated Nodes to the equation and that cosmic energy will align with your destiny; again, for better or for worse.

What are some key themes of Orcus energy?  Per Jeremy Neal, some keywords include (but are not limited to): “Integrity, authenticity, implacability, ruthlessness, loneliness, isolation, ‘dark night of the soul’, alienation, meditation and prayer, spiritual depth, determination, diehard, unbreakable, detached, merciless, inhumane, cruel.”  He makes a point of saying that constructive expressions of this energy *are* possible, but they are also extraordinarily difficult for a human of ordinary consciousness to manifest and require a strong spiritual slant in order to do so.  Intriguingly, Neal also mentioned Orcus’ capacity for immense wealth; something that may be sought in lieu of the incredible spiritual wealth it does seem to offer the potential for on the other side of the coin.  Since we already know DJT clearly is *not* an ascetic, I do have some concerns about his ability to express the higher potential of Orcan energy – especially when combined with that troublesome word “integrity”.  On p.98 of his book, Neal points out that “A consistency of integrity is based upon applying a rigorous standard of behavior, even to one’s own detriment.” – I have not seen this from Trump; a man who vociferously calls someone else out to produce a birth certificate and yet won’t produce his own tax returns when called upon to do so during his very own presidential bid.  To say this is a troubling sign would be an understatement.

But wait; there’s more.  It gets better, because if you read the book on Orcus you will also note Neal draws ties between Orcus and Nazi Germany – in light of this information, I don’t think those who are alarmed about Trump having white nationalists in his cabinet are overreacting in the slightest.  Again, please keep in mind this book was written long before DJT ever threw his hat in the American presidential ring and Neal himself does not make this association; he merely objectively states what his (very thorough) research has unearthed about Orcus. It was my own personal feelings and connection to this archetypal energy that had me making the link and I certainly have no wish at all for it to appear as if I were putting words in his mouth!  Personally I have yet to come across anyone else in the astrological community covering the Orcus angle of Donald Trump, and I only made the connection as a result of Neal’s incredibly insightful and impeccably-researched magnum opus. I’m not saying that no one else has made this correlation; rather what I merely attempt to convey is that from what I’ve seen to date most astrologers appear to be focusing instead on Trump’s Uranus, which is two degrees further away from his Sun/Nodes than Orcus and thus not as strong an influence.  On a fundamental level, Astrology 101 tells us the closer to exact an astrological aspect is, the louder it “talks”.  Therefore it is my opinion that excluding Orcus from consideration and interpretation would prove a grave mistake in this case.

I also found it interesting to read about Orcus’ ties to crime & punishment, now finding it an eerie “coincidence” the name of Trump’s VP is Mike Pence, which sounds an awful lot to me like the word “penance”.  Peas and carrots, it would seem.

The cherry on top of all of this, though, is the fact Donald Trump’s presidency coincides (not surprisingly) with America’s Orcus Return. I came to this realization upon reading p.154 of “Orcus” wherein Neal cited the USA’s Orcus as being at 9 degrees Virgo.  Currently, transiting Orcus is just about on top of it as we speak.  The translation: If anyone wants a good astrological view of Orcan energy and how it works/what it is all about, they need look no further than the USA over the next 4 years; specifically at the Trump Administration and its behaviors/policies.  America may indeed be on the threshold of its much-publicized Pluto Return, but first it has to get through Orcus.

01/11/17

PS: And for goodness sake, even if you aren’t an astrologer go buy the book and just skip over the technical parts!  Especially if you are American or just want to better understand the energetic essence of what the USA is dealing with for the foreseeable (political) future, this is a must-read!

Jupiter In Libra Opposite Uranus In Aries, Part 2

jupiterinlibraoppositeuranusinariesWe recently discussed some implications of the current Jupiter/Uranus opposition in Part 1 of this series, but now I want to discuss an entirely different angle of this energy!  Yet another facet of  this vibe is the unrest it tends to generate for social paradigms. Under Jupiter in Libra we now seek similarity of beliefs/worldviews/politics, but with this planet repeatedly opposing Uranus in Aries we’re apt to run into clashes in this respect within our social networks (real life AND digital).  Suddenly people we thought we had a lot in common with out themselves (rather shockingly) with a view that seems…well, perhaps radical or even crazy to us.

Now let me first say that I am all for tolerance regarding a difference of perspective.  But what happens if you find out your crew is entertaining some rather lunatic fringe ideologies?  Say white nationalist (read: Neo-Nazi) views?  I’m cool with a lot of things – I *have* to be, as I’m an astrologer and thus fully aware that people look at a lot of the things *I* believe and think they’re wacky!  This is why I try not to judge.  But even I draw the line at philosophies that preach hate instead of love; prejudice over understanding.  And this is exactly the kind of astrological setup we have going on right now.  The first exact pass of Jupiter in Libra opposite Uranus in Aries just occurred on December 26, 2016 but we have two more hits to get through yet (March 2, 2017 & September 27, 2017) and as such this will be a significant energetic backdrop in the coming New Year.

So what happens when the group ideology abruptly loses resonance with us?  Well, we may seek out a new clique for one – this energy has a very polarizing feel to it initially; one that will tend to push us to find people with more harmonious philosophies.  It’s not that everybody else is crazy and we’re sane, either – in fact, it’s possible for any number or reasons (personally I blame the Mutable Madness that has so dominated 2016 – this year will forever go into the history books as the year the world collectively lost its mind!) that perhaps WE are changing our own beliefs.  Perhaps we’re shocked and upset, thus being inclined to shift our political or moral stance 180 degrees.  Maybe this even triggers more activism out of us.  But one thing is for sure: Our Truth (or at least our perception of it) will change if we’re affected by the opposition between Jupiter in Libra and Uranus in Aries. And perhaps drastically so.  Whether it’s individual or collective, micro or macro, the more polite and balanced views are especially likely to be challenged so that we no longer sit on the fence.

For example: Harkening back to what I said earlier regarding the rise in Neo-Nazi ideologies that I think will occur under this opposition, do we continue to be polite about racism?

In a strictly neutral sense of these words, Uranus is Progressive and Liberal; Jupiter is Conservative.  Uranus can be evolutionary or it can be crazy – there is a reason for the old astrological Uranian axiom which states “Freedom without responsibility is license, not liberty”.  Jupiter can be open-minded or it can be a complete bigot.  Uranus is the group – it symbolically represents clubs, associations, fraternities, and organizations as well as our broader social cliques/communities in general.  Uranus can bring people who have nothing else in common together because they have a common cause/ideal. This can be positive, or it can be negative – what is the KKK but the Arya(ie)n Brotherhood, after all?  Uranus IS in Aries, is it not? Aries rules the head, and skinheads are most definitely a Lo-Fi example of how this fraternal vibe can manifest problematically.  Jupiter is the Promotor or Preacher – in Libra, it seeks to share and spread its Truth by attracting those with compatible views. Gone awry, it can also be incredibly looksist and very much inclined to judge a book by its cover.

Now we see how this series of oppositions can potentially create a fertile breeding ground for all kinds of crazy philosophies to take hold.  The overwhelming tendency for people to seek out a Tribe with whom they morally and politically align means it’s going to be very difficult and will require a lot of awareness to keep this all in check, because the default inclination will be for us to separate into these polarized factions instead of trying to understand the common ground we have with one another.  I’m not suggesting we hold hands and sing kumbaya with would-be members of the Fourth Reich – far from it!  But what we DO need is to stay woke about this dynamic while trying to connect to the greater Truth of Love, because when people are alienated they are far more vulnerable to this kind of radicalization. Instead of distancing ourselves from a friend who is starting to seem a little “out there” in their views, maybe we can try reeling them back in by engaging them around the ideologies we do share.

Mercury Rx In Capricorn: Beware Of “Minions”

A quick PSA regarding the current Mercury Retrograde in Capricorn:

The kickoff of this particular retro requires an extra note of caution due its proximity to Fixed Star Vega! There is the potential for all sorts of workplace intrigue to go down under this astro, especially if dealing with “horrible bosses”. To me this energy has the feel of lackies doing their master’s bidding – it could be anything from a nosey co-worker blowing our cover in some way, them backstabbing us by telling our boss that we said something nasty about them behind their back or tipping them off to the fact that we are looking for another job, to corporate espionage, to a bad reference from a vindictive employer, or even there being some kind of bugged/taped/recorded conversation involved that is designed to smear our reputation. Treat everything you say as if it were “on the record” now. If this isn’t applicable to your working life, do also look to your personal life and specifically to communications regarding parents. This is the kind of influence where a busybody cousin or jealous sibling might tattletale or spill secrets to Father or Mother – Capricorn rules “authority figures” in general; the primary ones we experience as children being our parents.

It is worth noting that Mercury is also close to Fixed Star Manubrium; a Sun/Mars star that would tend to heat up our mouth – we can see how this might be problematic given the aforementioned Vega influence! So a word to the wise is due that no matter how tempted we may be to vent something to a co-worker, boss, or someone in any kind of influential (professional) position, it may be better to think twice. Before firing off a curt email or saying/writing/texting something potentially incriminating, hold thy tongue – at least, for now…

Jupiter Square Pluto: Metastatic

The current ongoing square between Jupiter in Libra and Pluto in Capricorn has been a doozy from what I’ve been observing in consultation and also going on around me! Round one of this square seemed to hit with a wallop due to the fact that it took place on a very sensitized degree of the zodiac; one that was recently traversed by the final alignment of the Uranus/Pluto Square on March 16, 2015. The Uranus/Pluto Square was a status quo buster, but its younger sibling the Jupiter/Pluto Square so far seems more sinister; like the darkness of its anchoring Plutonic core is exponentially multiplying. At least with the Uranus/Pluto alignment, there was the potential for the shocks that came to be liberating. I wish I could say the same were true of the Jupiter/Pluto Square (and perhaps it will be the next time it perfects in March, as emancipating Uranus will be more closely involved), but right now I have been given the sense of a great, spreading darkness that seems to be descending upon people and generally undermining their sense of hopefulness. I’ve had 3 separate instances alone recently where I’ve had to dig down deep to give what I consider to be perhaps *the* most intense pep talks of my life; attempting to buoy those sucked into the undertow of this energy and call them back up toward The Light.

Adapted from a work by artist Denis Loubet.

To me, this vibe has the feel of something malignant growing and spreading – I touched upon the “pernicious belief” facet of this square in a previous post and while this square is active (we have two more hits of it to get through during 2017, FYI) I do think it’s going to be very important NOT to let any exaggerated shadows in our life overwhelm us. I don’t mean to imply they aren’t real, because with Pluto in Capricorn we’re likely to have substantive evidence to the contrary. But what I mean is we have the power to decide whether to propagate that blight with more negativity or not; whether we’re going to cut off the juice to it or let it snowball into something bigger. Because what we believe (for good OR ill) carries great influence now, and it is time to root out any destructive philosophy or dogma like the weed it is. We need a balanced perspective; to also empower ourselves with things like faith, hope, and trust even when it seems a great darkness threatens to engulf us.

And I don’t just mean with things like bullshit platitudes, either – we have to believe very deeply in the power of positivity rather than trying to “affirmation” our way to a better today/tomorrow without addressing the underlying beliefs that may be sabotaging things under the surface. To this end, the therapeutic process is highly beneficial during the Jupiter/Pluto Square – for example, if we’re going through financial challenges we can write ourselves all the abundance checks we want, but how effectively this manifests results for us depends on how deeply we’ve psychologically addressed any embedded root philosophies that may be corrupting our alignment with abundance. The same can be said of any area of life, whether it’s relationships, health, work, etc.

I have always been a big believer that we can’t just metaphorically stick a band-aid over a cancer. You have to fully understand the pathology behind it and treat at a cellular level if you want to eliminate the spread and send it to Hades into remission. During the ongoing square between Jupiter and Pluto, the key is to uncover those pernicious beliefs and unravel them at their source to transform them into a more empowering philosophy. And to resurrect our faith to uplift us even when storm clouds gather.

Jupiter In Libra Opposite Uranus In Aries, Part 1

jupiterinlibraoppositeuranusinariesOne of the next major astrological lineups we have on our hands is the impending opposition between Jupiter in Libra and Uranus in Aries.  While not exact until December 26, 2016, this vibe is currently active and building and it is particularly worth paying attention to because it will reoccur twice more – once on March 2, 2017 and a final time on September 27, 2017.  We will see the effects of this energy playing out a few weeks before AND after this configuration perfects, so it’s definitely a dominating energetic backdrop to the astro-scene that lingers well beyond the specific dates listed above.

What might we expect from the opposition between Jupiter in Libra and Uranus in Aries?  Quite a bit, actually – like all things astrological there’s never just one manifestation; rather there are layers to it. The first that came to mind for me involves the “we vs. me” theme of the Libra/Aries axis.  Coupled peeps should be aware this is a time when unexpected opportunities may surface for one or even both partners within that union, potentially leaving the partnership on uncertain footing.  It may even entail a distance separation.  In a neutral sense, this space can be thought of as simply giving the relationship some air, and it is fully possible for the space to bring growth & opportunity for both – for example,  for a greater level of independence or for emphasizing our social lives outside of that union to bring better balance between individuality vs. coupledom.

Ideally – in the Grand Scheme of Things – this space allows us to grow together rather than apart, but there are certainly no guarantees when Uranus is involved. Can we still want the best for a partner when these opportunities result in each of us going our separate ways (at least for the time being)?  This energy raises many questions about the growth of a union vs. our individual evolutionary Journey – can we still come together after we each go our own way, or is this where our Paths diverge?   What if an opportunity for a Significant Other means they wind up going cross-country or even intercontinental for a while?  What this really amounts to is an exercise in faith and trust….if you love something then set it free under this astro, because it may return to you better than it left you.  But if it continues to fly, then let it soar and believe this is because there is something much better in store!

Now for the single peeps – and particularly those who rabidly prize their independence – the opposition between Jupiter in Libra and Uranus in Aries may enlarge prospects for partnering.  There is the possibility of unexpectedly meeting Mr. or Mrs. Right and suddenly being challenged to shift that partnering philosophy.  What happens when you’re not looking to be partnered and yet in a bolt of freak luck from out of the clear blue you meet a good man or woman completely from left field (perhaps through friends/online/at a meetup group) who’s actually really good for you – what do you do THEN?  Or what happens – even if you aren’t all gung-ho about being single – if you have the sudden epiphany that a friend would make a really good partner?  Could the friendship survive this?  Should you act on it? There can definitely be a division between “Let’s just be friends” vs. “Let’s turn this into something more” under this astrological vibe.

There’s much more to come on this opposition – stay tuned…

The Mars/Uranus Mutual Reception

changeandnewTalk about your Rude (Mars) Awakenings (Uranus)…! A mutual reception kicked in between Mars & Uranus beginning at 12:51am EST on November 9th when Mars busted into radical Aquarius like a lunatic making a jailbreak from the asylum. This date should ring a bell for American readers – it was the wee hours of the morning immediately after Election Day, and many might have felt like they were literally awakened by a sucker punch as they turned on their televisions to view the results of the presidential race. Results of this aside (because we certainly can’t control those), I want to re-orient focus to talk about what we *can* do with the energy of this mutual reception!

The very first thing we must consider about Uranus and Mars working in concert with one another is that it unequivocally is some high-test rocket fuel. Like nitroglycerine, it may not be the most stable of compounds, but if you use it consciously it can certainly be one hell of a propellant. Mars is a hot-blooded, passionate, even angry kind of planet you see, and we sometimes forget what a vastly effective motivational tool this kind of fire can be when we want to make a change of some kind – think à la “I’m mad as hell and I’m not going to take this anymore!“; a rebel yell that urges us to action. Social activism is indeed a huge theme of a Mars/Uranus mutual reception, so if you’re angry and appalled about what you see going down, the first thing to do is get connected. Begin seeking like-minded people and band together, for there is strength in the collective now. There may be factions out there whose ideals conflict with your own, but that doesn’t mean you can’t start your own group and fight back; particularly against anything that flies in the face of the egalitarian energies symbolized by Uranus.

Please do not be fooled by the misguided notion that anger is not a “constructive” emotion – all feelings have their place and it’s what we choose *do* with them that ultimately determines whether they are positive or negative in expression. It is one thing to allow them to control us; another to acknowledge their presence and harness them in a way that truly serves us. If we become aware of our anger and opt to honor it, we can make conscious choices as to where and how we might turn this into fuel for actions that actually liberate us. The trick, though, is to be able to detach from it to a certain degree; to depersonalize our ire to an extent where it cools *just enough* for us to handle so we don’t burn ourselves or others. We must look at this almost clinically, in a somewhat scientific and observational manner, otherwise we’ll just wind up ranting and raving like a mad(wo)man or acting like a nutcase. But if we can observe the feeling and disassociate from it enough to where we’re “once removed”, we can see there may in fact be a Higher Order at work behind it. In this way, we can use it to prompt much-needed change without being part of the chaos – cooler heads must prevail in any “fight”. This is cerebral warfare we’re dealing with – you don’t fight fire with fire; you fight it with ice in your blood like some kind of Top Gun pilot. In this war for the future, it is absolutely critical that we maintain Air superiority by soaring above any belligerent bullshit to be the change we want to see.

This mutual reception will remain in play until December 19th, and a vibe of general social unrest will remain high at least until then. But this is not itself a bad thing, because things may change if we can band together and push for reform. In the meantime, make it a point to disconnect from social irritants, avoid fighting with “friends” (online or IRL) when you would be better off just detaching, and maybe even get some NEW friends. And be active in your community, because none of us battle alone under this vibe – we are all in this together! ❤

Jupiter Square Pluto: Dark Blessings

shadowangel

Building upon my last post discussing Jupiter in Libra square Pluto in Capricorn, another theme that keeps resurfacing in my head in relation to this energy lately is this concept of “Dark Blessings”.  Have you ever been through some kind of majorly unpleasant or even traumatic life event and then later turned around to use that experience to better relate to others; say someone who is/was in a similarly difficult circumstance?  Or as awful as things may have been, were you perhaps able to back up and get perspective to see that no matter how bad that experience subjectively was, there were certain factors that *could* have made the situation exponentially worse?

This is what I mean by “Dark Blessings” – it might not exactly be a silver lining, but the ability to salvage *something* (relatively) positive out of the situation is at least an appreciably lighter shade of grey, surely. Gilding the turd of a shit circumstance however we can – perhaps even through black humor – is certainly better than taking nothing positive at all away from a profoundly terrible experience, yes?

Jupiter In Libra Square Pluto In Capricorn

Over the next few weeks a square approaches between Jupiter in Libra and Pluto in Capricorn, perfecting its influence on November 24, 2016.  This is only the first round; there is a second on March 30, 2017 & a final bout on August 4, 2017. The effects of this energy are broad, but one manifestation of it will be to slowly breakdown our relationship dogma over this roughly 8-month long period in order to make a lasting transformation to our partnering philosophy. This is a time to upgrade relationship consciousness for the better; particularly if there are any negative/dysfunctional (perhaps even old-school) relationship paradigms inherited from our parents.  Pluto’s influence is psychological and Jupiter concerns belief, so what we really need to be drilling down to and illuminating now are the philosophies and perspectives we may have subconsciously internalized regarding love and marriage. Is it possible that in some respect we might have things just a wee bit….twisted?  Have we normalized things that are actuallyheartpentagram kind of…well…fucked up, to be honest?  Please understand this is not a judgment; it simply means if there is some kind of archaic “demon” sabotaging our happiness in relationships – perhaps even a warped framework/role model à la Al & Peggy Bundy – then it is time to perform a banishing ritual/exorcism!

During this square partnerships where (individual or joint) growth has stagnated are particularly in jeopardy, for Jupiter’s is a restless type of energy and the name of the game is always mutual elevation when it is found in Libra. Unfortunately, Pluto’s influence can bog this down in a big way! This Plutonic vibe revolves around the theme of something degrading over time – for example, constant or long-term pressures created by career, responsibilities and/or carrying all the “weight”, the aging process, our parents, or even parenting may threaten to undermine the sanctity of a union and can have some of us feeling as if we are growing apart rather than together.  Psychologically, there may be a sense of outgrowing a relationship that we perceive as being from a dying era of our lives; perhaps one that has seemingly been frozen in time/stuck in slow-motion and is a big drain in some way.  Instead of throwing more energy in, we may come to the conclusion that we’d rather conserve it for someone who lifts our vibe and generally makes us happy.

On another level, relationship growth can also be undermined by fearful or defensive psyches.  Whenever we endure some kind of trauma or negative experience in life, we tend to build up psychological “scar tissue” and add on these thick protective layers, sometimes making the perimeter wall between ourselves and Others a bit extreme.  This can be magnified by the stressor of relationship, as even good ones can trip off a trigger and thus create an overblown/disproportionate reaction within us….perhaps in response to demands for greater intimacy.  In such cases, despite the unpleasantness of this we must get perspective to realize when the person/partnership is actually quite beneficial for us and then honestly address any baggage that may be sabotaging growth and happiness within the union, because otherwise we risk taking a huge loss.  Not just immediately, but potentially with regard to our happiness in future unions as well.

We still have a few days left of that gorgeous mutual reception between Venus in Sagittarius and Jupiter in Libra, meaning if there has been any negativity with regard to our relationship beliefs we still have time to reset our stance to optimistic. There is no room for cynicism when these two benefics exchange energies; focus on aligning your energy and philosophy to reflect upon the beautiful, beneficial side of relationships, because we really do “receive what we believe” now.  Venus energy works on the principle of attraction, so raise your vibration for best results because others on a similar energetically elevated level will be drawn to it.   Have hope for love.  Believe in the goodness of Others.  Trust.  Open up to intimacy and challenge yourself when you feel the time and person is right. This is an 8-month long Jupiter/Pluto tango we’ll be doing, so start off with your A-vibe in partnerships to hold the energetic high ground.

The Venus/Jupiter Mutual Reception

venusjupitermutualreceptionWith the ongoing energy exchange between Venus in Sagittarius and Jupiter in Libra reaching a peak this week (on 10/26/2016), now is certainly a good time to discuss some of the energetic implications of this mutual reception!

Let’s begin by appreciating all the different forms “beautiful” can take, as the Hi-Fi side of this energy values diversity and finds that Good Things can come in an abundance of packages…including Love.  This mutual reception opens our eyes up to the fact that “attractive” exists in so many shapes/sizes/colors and helps us realize that mutual affinity surpasses all cultural, political, and/or racial bounds to become an all-encompassing Higher Principle.  When this vibe is done well, we do not “judge a book by its cover” and prefer instead to perceive the loveliness and goodness residing in Others on a greater level.  We become open-minded, peaceful, and tolerant regarding our differences while bonding over the positive qualities we share in common with those from other nations, religions, ethnicities, and/or philosophical beliefs – if relationships are said to be the mirrors of the soul, perhaps then our ability to do so is merely a reflection of the goodness and beauty within!

On a physical level, an appreciation for ethnic beauty is especially highlighted by this energetic pairing and this vibe generally gives a liking for the more exotic. Love your nationality, skin tone, or anything about your features or “look” that might distinguish you as hailing from a different background or part of the world because it is GORGEOUS!  ❤   There is no one-size-fits-all cookie cutter when it comes to “beautiful”, after all!

It should be noted that on a mundane level this energy favors linking up with a partner for the purposes of travel, or for any scenario that entails mutual growth and benefit. Companionship fosters exploration and understanding, and can be very, VERY good for us now!  How do others enhance your life, and how can you best enhance theirs?  Reciprocal blessings are certainly a keynote of the current Venus/Jupiter atmosphere.

On a more spiritual level, we may find ourselves attracted to different faiths, social customs, or philosophies during this mutual reception – if so, it’s definitely something to explore because there may be something we learn that aligns/harmonizes with our own viewpoint and becomes hugely beneficial to us.

The motto: Keep your eyes, mind, and heart open  ❤
